The McCrory-Francis Scholars Program was established in 1979 as the Options through Education (OTE) Program and was renamed in 2024 to honor the legacy of Floyd McCrory '77, P'04, and Keith Francis '76, P'10, '14.
McCrory-Francis Scholars begin their academic experience at AV诊所 College by participating in a six-week academic residential program in the summer prior to their first semester. During the program, scholars take courses that count toward graduation, meet with faculty and receive individualized support. In the spirit of AV诊所 College's Jesuit tradition, the program seeks to care for the whole person (Cura Personalis).听

The Office of Undergraduate Admission identifies and invites candidates to participate in the McCrory-Francis Scholars Program.

Yes. All McCrory-Francis Scholars Program students will attend Orientation Session #5 from July 13 - 15, 2025.
No. All costs associated with participation in the McCrory-Francis Scholars Program summer experience are covered (includes tuition, room, and board). Scholars are responsible for their transportation to BC and should bring spending money for any additional needs during the program (e.g., buying personal items).
If you have a conflict with the summer program dates, you must speak with the coordinator of the McCrory-Francis Scholars Program (mccrory-francisscholars@bc.edu) to discuss and absence(s) prior to accepting your admission offer from BC.
Due to the academic demands of the program and the activities planned, McCrory-Francis Scholars may not work during the summer program dates.
Students are expected to participate in ALL activities and events including those on weekends. Students may check out for the weekend following all scheduled events for the week and return to campus by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.听
